Our client is heavily recruiting for a Director of Rehabilitation. The candidate can be either a Physical, Occupational, or Speech Therapist.

The Director of Rehabilitation Services is responsible for the day to day coordination and oversight of all aspects of the rehabilitation services including physical, occupational, speech services for the assigned facility. The Director of Rehabilitation is responsible for the clinical oversight in a manner that supports the goals of the designated facility(s) while meeting federal and state regulations, as well as state specific practice acts.

Reports To:

• Directly reports to the Administrator of the facility where providing therapy services.
• Reports to Corporate Director of Rehabilitation, for all coordination of discipline services and/or any rehabilitation specific or corporate functions processes or initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides treatment in specialty area to patients within the health care facility as determined by resident needs and department staffing model.
• Essential functions may include single or multiple sight management as directed.
• Coordinates rehabilitation service delivery in a cost efficient manner meeting all facility and corporate standards.
• Responsible for appropriate rehab staffing levels and coordination of services.
• Ensure the clinical competence of all staff.
• Assists in managing productivity and efficiency to meet financial and clinical goals.
• Provides input to the Administrator/Corporate as to day to day issues.
• Coordinates annual evaluation of departmental employees, and provides input for staff evaluation, by appropriate supervisor(s).
• Assists in coordination of ongoing educational program of departmental staff.
• Ensures appropriate utilization and appearance of rehabilitation space to include coordinated interdisciplinary scheduling of patients/residents for assigned facility.
• Ensures a preventative maintenance program is in place for equipment utilized within department for assigned facility.
• Effectively communicates and coordinates departmental functions with other services in a constructive manner that helps build team rapport and effectiveness.
• Communicates effectively with Administrator and Corporate Rehabilitation department regarding department programs, problems, and successes.
• Assists with rehabilitation specific marketing efforts as directed.
• Accesses and follows up with Corporate Rehabilitation Director
• Ensures compliance with all state, federal, and fiscal agencies.
• Coordinates and assists in orientation to the facility including departmental specifics and work injury prevention. .
• Gives input to financial reviews and budget process as directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited college or university with a minimum of a bachelors degree in physical therapy or occupational therapy, or a masters degree in speech-language pathology and/or equivalent certification accepted by the designated professional accrediting body.
• Foreign trained therapists must meet the education standards as defined by the state licensing board in the state they practice in.

Professional Experience:

• Prefer-experience/knowledge managing other rehabilitation personnel.
• Prefer-experience/knowledge in long term care facilities.
• Prefer-experience/knowledge managing cost and productivity.
• Knowledge in governmental and regulatory guidelines in designated healthcare settings.

Certification/Licensure:

• Actively licensed therapist in assigned state(s) of employment as a Speech Language Pathologist, Physical or Occupational Therapist or related health care profession.
